The City of Buenos Aires records the hottest summer since 1906

In this way, this summer it broke the record for the hottest summer, exceeding the average temperature of 25.3 degrees registered in the summer season of 1988 and 1989.

 

“Argentina also had one of the hottest summers in the historical series (1961-2023),” said the SMN, adding that of the five hottest summers in 117 years, four occurred in the last 10 years.

 

Thus, the ranking was established with the first place in 2022/2022 (25.6°C), followed by the years 1988/1989 (25.3°C), in third place in 2015/2016 (25.3°C), in fourth 2016/ 2017 (25.2°C) and in fifth place 2013/2014 (24.8°C).
